Reliance Security Company Files Cybercrime and Fraud Complaint with Ghana Police CID
Reliance Security Company Limited has filed a formal complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, alleging fraud and cybercrime involving a legal practitioner and several of its staff members.
The complaint accuses Barrister Mark Richard of unauthorized access to the company’s computer systems, allegedly breaching the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772). It further alleges that he conspired with five company staff members to unlawfully interfere with, alter, or destroy sensitive electronic data, contrary to provisions of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
The company also claims that the alleged actions caused financial loss and reputational damage. Reliance Security Company has referred the matter to the CID for full investigation and reaffirmed its commitment to data protection and accountability. All individuals named are presumed innocent while investigations are ongoing.
